Below is our roll call of hotels, restaurants, bars, chefs and charities who are making it their mission to give back – whether it’s to the NHS, the emergency services or the disadvantaged. Where possible we have included donation details so you can help with their efforts. If you are involved in anything similar, we’d love to champion you too. Hotels, venues & members’ clubs giving back

Robin Birley is supporting his suppliers at 5 Hertford Street, encouraging members to turn to them for their grocery items. 5 Hertford Street and Oswald’s (another of Birley's clubs) are also supporting the front line, by asking their members to dig deep to donate to help feed the staff and families of all the ITU and support workers at the Royal Brompton Hospital.

Furloughed staff at Andaz London Liverpool Street are using their time to give back to their local communities. Among them is Wedding & Social Events Manager Hannah Jeal who has been masterminding activities for her neighbours’ children and making baked goods for a number of local hospitals.

Led by its charity, The Caring Foundation, Annabel’s staff and suppliers are providing 5,000 meals a week for NHS staff in London hospitals including the Chelsea & Westminster and West Middlesex University Hospital.

Baglioni has partnered with longstanding friends, Ferrari Trento, to raise funds for the NHS.  In exchange for donations, it is offering an array of goodies including 25% of its celebrated Afternoon Tea. See here for more information

London’s Bermondsey Square Hotel is donating £10 to Hospitality Action for every direct booking using the B2Cares Rate and encouraging those who are not planning a stay with them to donate to their Justgiving page in support of the Hospitality Action Emergency Appeal.

Selected Bespoke Hotels properties across the UK are distributing perishable foods to local charities and care homes.

Chelsea Football Club has made the Millennium Hotel at Stamford Bridge available for NHS staff.

citizenM hotels in London, together with its Parisian siblings, has donated 800 iPads to hospitals, helping keep patients connected with their friends and family.

Claridge’s hotel is providing free overnight accommodation for up to 40 workers from St Mary’s Hospital Paddington.

Corinthia London is asking for nominations for NHS nurses who have gone above and beyond the call of duty.  Winning nominees will receive spa vouchers once the hotel reopens. Name, workplace and reason should be emailed to heroes.london@corinthia.com

For every Dukes London online voucher purchased from now until 31st July, an extra six months validity will be offered (making it valid for a total duration of 18 months). In addition, the hotel will donate the profit generated to the NHS and Hospitality Action.

Fortnum & Mason is continuing its work with The Felix Project, a food-based initiative to support some of the most vulnerable people in society. The brand has also partnered with Cook-19, a service that provides cooked meals to key workers in the NHS who are sick or in isolation.

Hilton has opened ‘kitchen hubs' in its hotels across the country for social enterprise Open Kitchens, enabling the initiative to double its output and provide 50,000 more free meals a month to those in need. In addition, the Hilton London Metropole – Hilton's largest hotel in the UK – is now serving as a community kitchen preparing 1,000 meals a week to be distributed via the Felix Project to people in need including the homeless, children who rely on free school meals, the elderly and those living in isolation.

Hyatt Regency London - The Churchill has donated sofas and consoles to West London Mission which supports people in challenging circumstances.

The Intercontinental Hotels Group has donated 300 hotel rooms to London’s homeless.

The MCC Foundation,  the charitable arm of Lords Cricket Ground, has raised over £63,000, which will provide at least 18,900 meals for 450 homeless people currently housed across Westminster in temporary hostels.

The kitchens of the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park have been delivering 450 dinner boxes a week to the staff at St George’s Hospital. 

Travel club Mr & Mrs Smith has launched an initiative to give NHS and care home staff a night away at a luxury hotel once the crisis has passed. Over 45 of its hotels are offering stays for just £50 per night. Mr & Mrs Smith has started a Crowdfunder to raise £50,000, which could pay for 1,000 overnight stays. The company has also pledged to fund the first 100 rooms. NHS staff or care home workers can apply for a free stay here.

One Aldwych is donating 52 free weekend stays to NHS workers, which will include the hotel’s famous Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Afternoon Tea. Nominations can be made here

Luxury-homes short-letting brand, onefinestay, has pledged its support for the initiative NHS Homes, organised by the Short Term Accommodation Association, to offer free homes for key healthcare workers who need temporary accommodation. 

Osip restaurant in Bruton, Somerset has transformed itself into a farm shop selling baskets of produce to support the suppliers whose ingredients would normally be used by the restaurant. The team is also producing 50 free meals every Sunday for vulnerable people in the community and delivering to people who are self-isolating.

OYO Hotels & Homes has launched a new ‘virtual hotel’ where people can book overnight stays at the cost of £25 per room, per night. These will then be passed over to NHS trusts for frontline healthcare workers to redeem at their nearest OYO hotel.

August Bank Holiday weekend will see Point A Hotels open the doors of its nine hotels in London, Edinburgh and Glasgow, exclusively for NHS workers to come and stay free-of-charge for up to two nights.

Rockliffe Hall has donated hundreds of toiletries to County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust.

The team at Rosewood London hotel in Holborn are cooking and delivering food to the NHS staff at Great Ormond Street Hospital.

London hotel Rosewood London has partnered with luxury wedding company Bridelux and leading wedding suppliers to offer a complimentary once-in-a-lifetime wedding, worth over £100,000, for one 'deserving couple' working as key workers, NHS staff or carers during the current Coronavirus crisis. Nominees can submit an entry for themselves or friends via the HELLO! magazine website.

Sea Containers London is giving away overnight stays at the hotel to some of the capital’s most inspiring NHS and healthcare workers. For more information see here.

Shiva Hotels are working with community groups to provide a safe haven and meaningful care for those who need it. They are also collaborating with local emergency services including London Ambulance Service to provide support for NHS key workers.

Soho House teams around the world are getting together to support their local communities. Soho House UK is prepping and delivering 1,000+ meals daily to frontline workers in London by the team at White City House and 300 meals daily from Soho Farmhouse are being delivered to John Radcliffe Hospital.

Strand Palace is delivering 600 free meals daily to the London Ambulance Service. The hotel has also opened its doors to key workers.

The Beaumont in Mayfair is donating 20% of each gift voucher sold from the hotel or The Colony Grill between now and 31st December 2020 to NHS Charities Together. The hotel is also donating 120 room nights to ‘Nights on Us’ (given to NHS workers) and has given five full spa days to Intensive Care nurses at St Mary’s Paddington.

Although shut to guests, the 5-star Berkeley hotel in Knightsbridge is providing hot food and drinks to all NHS workers, police, firemen and paramedics via a drive-through station outside their front door. Through the Westminster Connects initiative, the hotel has also been preparing over 1,500 meals a week which are delivered by an army of volunteers to those in sheltered accommodation and low-income households.

Private members club The Conduit in Mayfair having prepared and delivered over 3,000 meals to NHS key workers over the last few months.

The Connaught hotel is working closely with homeless charity, The Passage, as well as St Patrick's Church in Soho and Farm Street Church in Mayfair to provide 2,000 meals a week for the homeless.

As part of an ongoing partnership with Manorfield Primary School in East London, hotel chefs from The Dorchester London are cooking free school meals for children whose parents are required to go to work to help tackle coronavirus. They are also curating daily food packages for donation to a shelter run by the Salvation Army in partnership with Westminster Homelessness Service and supporting the London Ambulance Service with supplies for front line workers including paramedics, vehicle engineers and cleaners. 

Staff at The Hari Hotel in Belgravia have set up a delivery service of food, necessities and medication to the local community.

The Lanesborough hotel is encouraging people to nominate a NHS member of staff who is particularly deserving of a treat. Prizes range from an afternoon tea experience to drinks in The Library Bar, to spa treatments at The Lanesborough Club & Spa to an overnight stay at the hotel. One lucky nominee will be picked each Friday afternoon until The Lanesborough reopens its doors. Nominations can be submitted here

The Langham London team has donated over 10,000 masks to care homes around London over the last few weeks. They have also been distributing their delicious Langham shortbread to say a big thank you to those working around the clock to keep everyone safe.

From 10th July to 7th August, The Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa in Bath will be offering all NHS staff Two-for-One on its afternoon teas. Afternoon Tea is served in The Dower House Restaurant daily between 1.30pm and 6pm (last sitting at 4.30pm).

The Savoy has joined forces with charity City Harvest to provide hundreds of meals for disadvantaged groups around London, including the homeless, the elderly and victims of domestic abuse. Based from the hotel’s kitchens, the team is currently producing 400 meals a week. The hotel also donated prizes to the Vanity Fair charity raffle for NHS charities and the 50 Best Bar’s Bid for Recovery initiative. In addition, the venue is offering 20 nights to the Nights on Us initiative to provide NHS ICU workers with a break once the coronavirus pandemic is over.

The Shangri-la Hotel at The Shard is asking for nominations for local medical heroes for their chance to win a complimentary stay at the hotel. See here for more information.  

Located on the Roseland Peninsula, on the South Coast of Cornwall, The St Mawes luxury boutique hotel opened its doors from the start of the crisis and set up as a hub for the local community group, taking grocery orders and delivering to vulnerable people in the village and surrounding area who were isolating.

The St Mawes team are now also preparing freshly baked sourdough pizzas four nights a week, which can be delivered straight to residents’ front doors.

The St Pancras Hotel Group is offering rooms at its three London properties - the Gyle, the California and the Megaro - to NHS staff.

Since April the team from The Zetter boutique hotel in Clerkenwell has been preparing and delivering meals to vulnerable families in EC1.

John Christodoulou, founder of the Yianis Group which owns hotels including the Hilton Manchester, London Marriott Hotel Canary Wharf and Canary Riverside Plaza hotel, has been supplying NHS staff at the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel with energy and morale boosting packs via the Yianis Christodoulou foundation.    

Restaurants, food & drink brands giving back

7 Saints are working with Age UK by preparing ready meals to be delivered to vulnerable members of the local community. Check their Instagram page for updates, and for more information about Age UK’s Coronavirus emergency appeal check out their website.

Chef and restaurateur Adam Handling has opened his kitchen to cook hundreds of meals to give to the elderly and most vulnerable in these difficult times and is asking people to #DonateYourDinner. To pledge your support click here

Angelina have teamed up with local charity Made In Hackney to deliver free meals to vulnerable people living in Hackney. For more information on the initiative and how to donate, check out their JustGiving page.

Anima D’Italia are raising money to deliver pizza to NHS staff working at the Royal London Hospital. For every £10 donated, they will deliver an extra pizza on them. For more information, check out their GoFundMe page.

The Antonio Carluccio Foundation will make grants of up to £500,000 this year to support hospitality businesses hit by the Coronavirus pandemic.

All branches of The Athenian are offering 50% off their menu for delivery to any NHS hospital, surgery, clinic or care home, via City Pantry.

Bacardi is partnering with Deliveroo Editions on an initiative which will enable independent bars to deliver cocktails to local customers in London and Manchester.

Ballantine's whisky has committed a six-figure fund in the form of 20 £5,000 grants. These are to be distributed to 20 community-driven music collectives globally who will be participating in Boiler Room’s ‘Streaming From Isolation’ series. ⁠

Beau Mange, which offers live cooking masterclasses with the best celebrity chefs from around the globe and with all ingredients delivered to the door, is donating all profits to Hospitality Action.

Mayfair’s Benares has launched its Benares @ Home offering on delivery platform Supper, pledging to match every meal ordered on the service with one donated to NHS workers.

Middle Eastern barbecue restaurant Berber & Q has launched its Berber & You campaign, aiming to deliver free meals to NHS staff via a Go Fund Me page.

Blacklock restaurants are donating all profits from their Blacklock at Home service to the charity End Youth Homelessness. But you will have to be quick on a Monday morning at 10am because they sell out in minutes.

Brixton Brewery are selling their supply of brewing yeast to the public and donating all profits to their local food bank. You can find out more on their website and buy some yeast here.

By Chloe are offering free tea and coffee and 50% off food for NHS workers. They’re also teaming up with Magic Breakfast to offer meals at their Oxford Circus and Tower Bridge restaurants to children who rely on free school meals.

Camden Town Brewery has launched the Camden Bre.www.ery bar, a virtual pub in partnership with Hospitality Action to help raise money for the charity’s Covid-19 emergency fund.

Cappadocia Turkish restaurant in Kingston is cooking and delivering hundreds of meals to frontline NHS workers at Kingston Hospital. It is also offering 40% off all collections for NHS and emergency services workers.

Piri-piri chicken specialist Casa Do Frango is offering free meals to all NHS staff.

Chick N Sours have teamed up with The Recipe and together, with volunteers, they’re cooking hundreds of meals a week and delivering them to NHS workers. Find out more here

Club Mexicana (who make banging vegan tacos) are donating thousands of meals to the NHS and raising additional funds through the sale of hoodies and t-shirts by Sports Banger.

Coal Office, the food venture from designer Tom Dixon and chef Assaf Granit, is cooking a short menu each day. 50% discount to NHS workers and any unsold food boxes donated to charity.

Cointreau is inviting Instagram users to show their #CointreauGratitude by digitally passing a virtual orange onto friends they look forward to sharing a drink with and tagging their favourite bar. For each post, Cointreau will donate £1 to The Drinks Trust, as well as matching all voluntary donations made by users themselves to the JustGiving page. The brand has also donated a further £30,000 to the charity.

Compass Group, the contract catering business has thanked the "tens of thousands" of staff who are providing critical and essential services to clients and governments around the world, saying their dedication and contribution make it "extremely proud". The group was awarding bonuses to all employees supporting the NHS.

COOK-19 collects donations and ingredients and a team of volunteers led by Angela Hartnett, working with Smart Hospitality, turn them into food hampers and restaurant-quality cooked meals for NHS key workers.  They have cooked and delivered thousands of meals. To support click here.

Corbin & King has launched a gift voucher scheme with 50% of all dining vouchers or credit in advance given to its staff to help them both during and after the pandemic. Customers can purchase from the websites of the following The Wolseley; The Delaunay; Soutine; Brasserie Zedel; Fischer's and Colbert. The London-based restaurant group  has also launched a home dining offer as a way to raise further funds, with 100% of the profits going towards topping up the wages of furloughed staff. Centralising the operation from the group's Covent Garden restaurant, The Delaunay, the delivery service covers a range of signature dishes from across the Corbin & King portfolio.

 

Crosstown have created a way for you to donate doughnuts to the hospital of your choice. Their ‘Operation Doughnation’ lets you pick a quantity of doughnuts to donate - from 12 to 120 - for a reduced price. Full details on their website.

Restaurant group D&D London has launched an online platform to provide support and guidance for its employees. It is also preparing 2,000 meals a day for front line workers at West Middlesex, St Barts and University College hospitals in London as well as St John’s Ambulance service and Manchester’s Royal Infirmary.

The Initiative has turned its Deli Cat & Sons site in London’s Broken Wharf into a food and drink delivery service and online grocery with £1 per order donated to a food bank. It is also donating 500 survival packs a week to hospitality workers in need.

Deliveroo has pledged to provide 500,000 free meals to NHS hospitals. It has added an option on its website for customers to donate.

Dominique​ Ansel Bakery are offering support packages for NHS staff, police, and emergency services, as well as teaming up with Magic Breakfast to feed children who rely on free school meals.

Catering company turned ready meal delivery service Feast is supplying meal boxes to medical teams at London hospitals, including Hillingdon, Hammersmith and Royal Brompton. They are also offering a 20% discount and free delivery to NHS workers.

South London caterer Food Show has partnered with Millie’s Cookies to bake and deliver 100,000 freshly baked milk chocolate cookies to NHS workers thanks to a partnership between SSP UK, Delice de France and  Electrolux. The sweet treats have been distributed to a number of hospitals across London and the South East.

Contract caterer Fooditude has reopened its kitchen with a small group of volunteers to serve the vulnerable and self-isolating in London's Southwark. Donations can be made here.

Scottish-based hospitality group G1 is delivering grocery parcels to NHS workers at Glasgow’s Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. Key workers will also receive a 20% food discount. The group has promised to throw a huge free party for QEUH workers once the crisis is over.

Gail’s bakeries have been working day and night to bake nearly 10,000 meals a week for frontline NHS heroes, which includes a loaf of sourdough to eat on the job or take home. In partnership with The Conduit and Ralph Lauren the brand has launched #FuelOurNHSHeroes. To date over 48,000 meals and 18,000 loaves have been baked.

M and Gaucho Restaurants are partnering with the Hildon Foundation and Deliveroo to deliver 1,000 meals each week to Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust and the new Nightingale hospital. On 28th September, M Threadneedle Street will host a fully complimentary ‘Appreciation Dinner’ for 200 NHS front line doctors and nurses and their partners. They will also invite those partners who have lost their loved ones as NHS Front Line Heroes.

Award-winning social enterprise Goldfinger Factory, together with Sicilian street food restaurant Panella, has launched People’s Kitchen // To Your Door, a programme to feed vulnerable residents of Trellick Tower and surrounding tower blocks on Golborne Road. Donate a meal token here

Hakkasan Group are donating meals to Soup Kitchen London and delivering boxed meals to their local Chelsea and Westminster hospital.

Chef Ani Arora and his team at Hankies have been cooking up a feast for the NHS staff at Chelsea Royal Hospital.  For every order received via his new Hankies@Home delivery and collection service, Ani will also donate a meal to support the NHS and other front-line workers in the local area.

HIDE is preparing and delivering meals to the NHS each day.

James & Cranwell have teamed up with some of the biggest names in hospitality to launch Hospitality for Heroes, a not-for-profit grass roots initiative which uses local skilled chefs to supply NHS staff with free, healthy meals using quality produce purchased from local suppliers.

Itsu has opened the kitchens at its King’s Road and Regents Place branches to deliver hundreds of hot veggie gyoza udon meals to UCLH, Chelsea & Westminster, St Thomas’ and St Mary’s hospitals.

Takeaway giant Just Eat is offering all NHS staff a 25% discount on any order.

Kennington Tandoori teamed up with St. Anslem’s Church to give key workers and their families a free hot meal every Friday. They’re also providing 60 meals to St. Thomas’s Hospital on Mondays and Wednesdays.

La Gelateria are donating 20% of the proceeds on ice cream and other sweet things ordered from their spot in Stratford to provide meals, childcare, and general support to NHS frontline staff.

Michelin-starred chef Larry Jayasekara and a team of 20 chefs at Pont de la Tour are making 1,000 lunches a day for health workers at University College Hospital.

All Las Iguanas’ restaurants that are currently open are offering 50% off all hot takeaways or call-and-collect food for both NHS and supermarket workers.

Healthy fast food chain Leon has launched its Feed Britain service. A range of meals and provisions boxes can be ordered for delivery, with 100% of the profits supporting NHS staff, providing them with one hot and healthy meal every day.

Lina Stores are raising money to provide free emergency food kits for hospitality staff who have been made redundant. Each kit will contain enough freshly made pasta and sauce for 10 separate meals. Full details here GoFundMe page.

Mariage Freres, Covent Garden’s iconic tea emporium, has donated over 1,500 teabags to St Thomas’ Hospital to be placed in staff room kitchens.

Independent vegetarian and vegan restaurant group Mildred’s is delivering 400 meals every week to NHS staff at Whipps Cross, Whittington, Barnet and Whitechapel hospitals. Donations can be made here.

Mission Kitchen, the socially-minded kitchen space for food makers is helping to keep small food businesses alive and fight hunger during Covid-19. They partner with food banks, charities and community projects to get meals to the people who need the most. To support this vital work click here.

London's first authentic Xi'an restaurant Murger Han is offering free meals to workers across the emergency services and the NHS at its Euston and Mayfair locations.

Nando's have reopened four of their London branches to prepare 250 ‘Peri-packed’ meals everyday and send them nearby hospitals. They’ve also paired up with local charity partners to donate any spare food.

North Brewing Co in Leeds has shifted to online sales through its webshop. The company is brewing a series of charity beers throughout the pandemic, donating 50% of profits to a rotation of charities, including Hospitality Action’s COVID-19 Emergency Fund.  North is also part of a national Pay It Forward scheme to Buy The NHS a pint

Novikov’s garden at Brent Eleigh in Suffolk is donating seasonal produce to a local charity which provides meals for homeless and vulnerable people.

Many of the furloughed kitchen staff from Open House London, the group behind Percy & Founders and The Lighterman, are currently making hundreds of meals a week for staff at Chelsea & Westminster, St Mary’s, Barts and Royal Free hospitals via Hospitality for Heroes.

Each day Holborn restaurant Otto’s cooks and delivers food to the ICU staff at St Thomas’ Hospital in London. Donations can be made here.

Pasta Remoli is delivering fresh pasta dishes to NHS staff at Homerton and Whipps Cross hospitals

PAUL bakery has been delivering thousands of freshly baked items each day to London hospitals. They have also re-opened 10 bakeries for delivery and takeaway only (Canary Wharf, Chelsea, Earls Court, Hampstead, Holland Park, Islington, South Kensington, Hammersmith, Marble Arch and Wimbledon), offering free coffee and tea to NHS staff.

Pret A Manger has reopened 10 shops near hospitals in London to support NHS workers, offering them 50% discount. It will also be donating 7,000 extra meals a week to its homeless charity partners.

Punjab restaurant in Covent Garden is cooking 2,500 meals a week for Under One Sky and Sikh charity, Nishkam Swat. Owner Amrit Maan is also giving a 50% discount on all collections to key worker

Reach Food Service, a supplier of premium raw ingredients to the industry, has announced a £210,000 donation to The Felix Project. The company has also donated £250,000 in food stocks to The Caring Foundation to support the organisation’s goal of cooking upwards of 50,000 meals a week in London for the elderly, children, families with no income and NHS workers.

Reach my Kitchen, who supply London’s top restaurants, have partnered with The Caring Foundation have collaborated with The Felix Project.  A direct donation to Hospitality Action has also been made and further donations of £1 will be made for each order placed on REACHmykitchen.com until the end of 2020.

rhubarb is cooking and delivering thousands of meals a week to five NHS hospitals - St Bartholomew’s, Royal London Hospital, Newham Hospital, Mile End Hospital and Whips Cross Hospital - for the foreseeable future.

High end restaurant delivery service SUPPER has partnered with Magic Breakfast to support the charity’s Keeping Breakfast Going campaign. Through a network of 480 partner schools, Magic Breakfast provides healthy breakfasts to children at risk of hunger. During this period of crisis, while many schools are currently closed, the organisation’s work is more important than ever as it continues to support vulnerable children and children of key workers.

Vital Meals is a new non-profit venture set up in response to the coronavirus pandemic. Run by Ayesha Pakravan-Ovey, the head chef and founder of catering business The Plattery. Ayesha is cooking and delivering free nutritious meals to anyone unable to feed themselves during this difficult time. She has so far raised £20,000 to continue this work. The World’s 50 Best Restaurants has launched '50 Best for Recovery', a Covid-19 support programme for the hospitality sector with a fund-raising drive at its heart. This includes the Recovery Hub to offer advice, information and inspiration for restaurant and bar businesses, as well as further information for those looking to give back to the hospitality sector.
