The London Restaurant Cooperative: Food Delivery & Philanthropy

Launched by Le Bab owner Stephen Tozer, The London Restaurant Cooperative is a new food delivery service that aims to keep hospitality staff in work and food on people’s tables during the coronavirus outbreak.

Out of work chefs prepare low cost meals that can be purchased online whilst unemployed waiting staff will deliver the orders.

Two options - one vegan and one non-vegan option - are offered daily, priced at £6.50 each. Orders placed before noon are delivered the same day. A small drinks menu is available too.

There is also the option to donate meals on top – an additional £4 will cover a delivery of a meal to UCL hospital for staff or to The Connection at St Martin-in-the-Fields homeless shelter.

Stephen has covered the set-up costs himself to allow the kitchen and waiting staff involved to keep 100% of the profits. In addition, any meals left at the end of the day are given to staff to take home to their families.
